About me
My name is David Bos, I live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I started playing
flamenco guitar somewhere around 1983, did two years of conservatory in
Rotterdam, where (and this is rather unique) an accomplished flamenco guitarist
by the name of Paco Peña is teaching flamenco guitar (not to be
confused with Paco de Lucía, another well known flamenco guitaris).
There I learned about Spanish history and culture as far as it relates
to flamenco. I also learned to speak a little Spanish and how to play flamenco
guitar (I never got really good at it, it's very difficult). During, and
more so after the conservatory, I used to play in flamenco dance classes.
During this time I got involved with "El Tablao Flamenco", a small non-profit
organisation that promotes flamenco. For "El Tablao" I do some writing
and the desktop publishing for our flamenco magazine "aficionao".
As far as music goes, I only realy love flamenco, so I can be really
fanatic about it. As far as flamenco goes, I don't know everything there
is to know about it, but neither does anyone else, although there certainly
are peolpe who know more about it than I do.
Apart from flamenco, I have a general interest in science, with special
interest in astronomy/cosmology and chaos-theory/complexety (which basicaly
relates to everything).
I have an education in electronics, with which I don't do very much,
and some practical experience with computers. I am currently sort of a
system administrator at a center for musicians in Rotterdam, where i try
and keep the PC's up and running.
