Flamenco today can be considered an obscure, underground sort of
world- or folk music, with a high level of musicality, and with too little
recognition. It has always been interesting, but it didn't stay the same:
times changed, so did flamenco.

The introduction to flamenco is a brief overview of what flamenco is, where
it came from and what it's doing these days (in English).
Aficionao online offers a list of recommended CD's, flamenco photos, and
articles in both Duch and Engllish from the paper flamenco magazine "aficionao"

recent changes (last modified

Major change: I am no longer affiliated with the off-line flamenceo magazine
"aficionao". This means I won't be updating Que Pasa" on these pages,
nor will any articles from aficionao be put online here. Of course stories
about how and why vary depending on who you ask. My version is that I very

This site isn't gone for the time being; the articles and information here
can still be usefull for those who just started venturing into flamenco.
For now the name "aficionao" will live on here.
Irony has it that this site just got awarded by the German
Flamenco Pages with the "Premium Flamenco Website Award", which I am
quite proud of. I'd like to thank all those who visited this site in the
past (thus contributing to this site getting this award, and making maintaining
this site worth while in the first place), offer my appologies for the
long hiatus in updates and for the fact this site won't be the same as
it used to be.
