The history of flamenco

    - by Paco Sevilla

The "dance-archives" on the internet (see the 'links' section) contains an article in two parts, that describes in a fairly compact fashion (few dozen pages) practically the entire history of flamenco as far as itis known. It covers all the importend events without going into to much detail.

The articles originally appeared in "Guitar and Lute magazine" (vol. 25, nov. '82) and was written for an audience not familiar with flamenco, hence the multitude of explanations. It later appeared in the US magazine "Jaleo", and was copied from there into the dance-archives. Since, a Dutch translation of the articles has appeared in the magazine aficionao.
I can highly recommend these articles

These are the original English texts from the dance-archives.
